Is this gameboy still ok?

[Released: 1989] The Game Boy is Nintendo's second handheld system following the Game & Watch series. Despite many other technologically superior handheld consoles introduced during its lifetime, the Game Boy was a tremendous success.

My dad found his old gamboy in a tote, it looks like it’s still in pretty good condition. But the batteries contact points look like there oxidized/rusted. Is this something that can be easily fixed, or will I need to take it to a repair shop?
