USB mass storage emulation not working with pi zero

Hey all --

I'm trying to emulate a USB storage device with a pi zero, and it doesn't seem to be working. I've followed the instructions here: https://gist.github.com/gbaman/50b6cca61dd1c3f88f41#gistcomment-1822387 and in several other places, even using Raspbian Jessie, but my Windows 11 computer won't recognize the device.

Any suggestions would be a great help, I'm following the instructions for the g_mass_storage module.
