Nincade with Nintendo Online controllers???

So Brook's Nincade internal bluetooth pcb for the Nintendo mini classics is awesome. Just open the (S)NES Classic or (S)FC Mini and plug in a couple of wires and BAM! Bluetooth controllers on your Nintendo Mini Classic! Works with PS3/ PS4/ Switch/ Wii/ Wii U controllers etc. Especially cool for the Famicom mini, which has no controller ports. Now, the bad news is that the device was made before the Nintendo online 8 and 16 bit controllers were made and the firmware doesn't support them. I've contacted Brook, and they say they haven't been tested. I offered to loan my online controllers to them, but got no response. 8 Bit Do's dongle does support these controllers, but it's external and therefore ugly.

Has anyone or can anyone make custom fan made firmware for the Nincade? It's literally a crime not to be able to play the Famicom Mini using Nintendo's official Famicom online controllers for Switch.
