xbox isnt working but i dont know why

i recently bought an xbox from someone who got it years ago and hasnt used it in years but when i tried it out it wasnt working. It doesn't display anything and the disk drive doesnt work. I tried getting new video cables that didnt work, i opened it up cleaned it up even though it was already clean and i also took out the clock capacitor just because, i took out the rubber band in the disk drive and cleaned it up and put it back on, and i made sure nothing leaked or was even broken. But when i try to use it, it turns on and runs but nothing happens and when i try opening to tray it doesnt even sound like its trying to open. My xbox model is a 1.1 2002 model i would love some help and would like to know if i should try again or just buy a new one
