[Released: 2005] As the second console from Microsoft, the XBOX 360 completely sold out upon release in all regions except in Japan. About 33% of all consoles became defective making it the most unreliable console ever created.

Issue playing DVDs

Hi all, I've scoured the internet for an answer on this but no luck. I've had my xbox 360 for a while, but didn't try playing a dvd on it until recently. It plays games just fine but any dvd I try to put in it it gives me a region code error. The dvds are region 1, and the Xbox 360 was purchased new in America, and the games I've played on it are marked as NTSC. The locale is set as United States. It is an XBox 360 E model 1538 if that helps.
