Asking for Help on Extracting Sonic Mega Collection's Game ROMs

[Released: 1988] The Sega Genesis was Sega's most successful console; though Sega has never released a total sales figure quote. Several add-ons were created including the Sega CD and Sega 32X which extended its capabilities.

Asking for Help on Extracting Sonic Mega Collection's Game ROMs

Post by /genesis »

I have a question. I dumped my GameCube Sonic Mega Collection disc using a softmodded Wii and USB Loader GX. I then opened the ISO in Dolphin and went to the filesystem, and saw that the games are in .dat files, located in the sonic/data/roms folder. I can easily extract them from the ISO, but I need help converting them into usable .bin files for use on any Genesis emulator. I found this little code by GreyRogue, but it requires the user to copy and paste the code and build it with Visual Studio. But that's when I ran into a problem. I'm not an expert C++ coder, and I need your help getting the code to work without any flaws.
Remember, I'm only doing this for preservation purposes, and I'm asking politely for your cooperation. I'm not asking for any sales or ROMs or anything illegal. And I know Mega Collection is chock full of SEGA Genesis games featuring Sonic and two extra games.
