How to fit PSP-2000 battery to PSP-3000?

How to fit PSP-2000 battery to PSP-3000?

I just bought a new battery online and when it came I realize that I got a PSP-2000 battery when I have a PSP-3006. The battery does work and is operable, it's just it doesn't last long because it doesn't fit snuggly into the battery slot, it keeps fluctuating from "there is battery" and "there is no battery". I tried placing folded paper or force taping the cover/battery to get it to work but I can't quite get it right. If there is any way to fit it I would love to know!
