Mayflash Magic on PS Classic Autobleem Problem

I'm trying to use a Mayflash Magic NS 2 adapter in Autobleem on my PS Classic, specifically with a PS3 controller. Whenever I got the controller connected the buttons would be all messed up, some not working at all in games.
I finally got it working by reconfiguring the buttons in the Autobleem menu, but as soon as I close the game, the next time I open it I have to remap the buttons again. I tried hitting "Save global config" and "Save cfg for loaded game" but neither do anything!
Does anyone know how to fix this?? I don't understand why everyone is saying the Mayflash is so simple and just "plug and play"! I couldn't get the 8bitdo to work properly either.
