Use RPI 4 instead of Mac for programming

Post by /RaspberryPi »

I have a 2019 MacBook Pro with 8 gb ram. Would a Raspberry Pi 4 8 gb perform better when programming?
I know this question sounds stupid, but hear me out. On my Mac I run a lot of applications simultaneously because it’s possible and convenient and the Mac OS probably requires quite some RAM. I use it for photo/video editing and programming. If i use the raspberry pi solely for programming, more RAM should be available.
And yes, before you all comment that I should focus on writing better code instead of changing hardware, I run large data sets and ML.
