Error every time I try to flash Windows 11 onto 256 GB SD card using rpi 400

Post by /RaspberryPi »

I'm trying to flash windows onto an SD card using my raspberry pi. The SD card is 256 GB. I've been following the instructions (e.g., https://www.tomshardware.com/how-to/ins ... spberry-pi) but each time I attempt to flash it, I get an error that says "Your system needs 11.8GB of free space to download the Windows components to. If your sd card is too small to do this, you can set the DL_DIR variable to a mounted drive with sufficient space. (Must be an Ext4 partition)"
I do not understand why I am getting this message since the SD card is plenty big enough. I've googled around and can't figure out how to solve the problem. Advice on how I can fix this error?
