Pi Mate 22.04 LTS on 3B+?

Post by /RaspberryPi »

Held off on a full upgrade for a while but finally bit the bullet to upgrade MATE on my pi 3B+ and I can't get the 22.04LTS arm version to load.
Newest raspbian and 64bit MATE will load but after tinkering around raspbian doesn't have the features i'm looking for and 64bit is extremely slow as can be expected.
after the rainbow splash screen on initial boot it loads to a black screen which eventually powers down and turns off the display.
SD card is fully functional via 3rd party software testing and raspbian checks out that it's still fine.
not sure what the issue could be since this only seems to be a problem with the arm 32bit os.
