Using other device for logging?

Post by /RaspberryPi »

I have tried to mount a usb stick and mount this on /var/log, to move all the logging away from my root partition. Most of the time this seems to work fine. Until last week, where i had some power issue (or the power plant had an issue). Since this, the USB stick seems to mount a little to late. As a result, some logfiles become corrupt. I don't want to log to tmpfs, because this makes other problems.
Is there a way, to mount a partition/device early enough to get this more stable?
