Complete beginner , need a bit of guidance with my project .

Hello ,I have a project to do in which we are using raspberry pi in a door lock which opens via one time QR .
I have 0 knowledge pi , so can you guys please answer these questions.
1) Do i have to buy two boards for opening the lock and scanning and QR code? It is also connected to the WiFi .
2) What languages do i need to know before getting into this? ( i know basic c++ and python )
3) Do i even need raspberry for this or Arduino will be fine for this?
4) I got 2 months time to do this so am i taking over a big project?
