Any feedback on SATA expansion boards?

hello,
I am in the hunt for a SATA expansion board in order to connect my Pi 4 (8GB) to a SATA HD...
browsing the net I have found lots of "promotions" on Geekworm - https://geekworm.com/collections/raspberry-pi
I do not need to build a NAS like most of us, I just need a solid reliable SSD to run my OS (Home Assistant)...
anybody has it? any feedbacks? any alternative? how have you connected a SATA? (don't tell mee with a USB convertor cable :P)
