Can you connect a normal PC fan to a pi?

I have a super old computer which isn't worthwhile (my pi is more powerful) however it has 2 tiny fans in it, could I pull those out and connect them?
Most case fans are 5v and I believe the GPIO pin on the pi is also 5v.
Would this work?
Or is it better to just find a fan that's designed for the pi?
