What titles have you played long after the Genesis's active lifespan, and felt they are still very playable by modern standar

[Released: 1988] The Sega Genesis was Sega's most successful console; though Sega has never released a total sales figure quote. Several add-ons were created including the Sega CD and Sega 32X which extended its capabilities.

While it is possible, I find it unlikely that someone could have played every single game shortly after release.
I was Team Nintendo growing up, so the most of the Genesis/Mega Drive I've played at the time were all at my cousin's, consisting of anything Sonic, James Pond, Comix Zone and Beyond Oasis. As a result, I ended up playing most of the library well into adulthood.
For me, I find these to be quite fun and playable even after encountering them for the first time much later on:
  • Streets of Rage 2, 3
  • Thunderforce 3, 4
  • Langrisser 1, 2
  • Phantasy Star 4
  • Gunstar Heroes
  • MUSHA
  • Rent a Hero
  • Turrican
  • Vectorman
