Just bought a PS Classic, want to mod it with Project Eris, but only have a USB 3.0 on hand

SOOOOO I just got a PS Classic on the cheap so I can roll with the Project Eris mod, it sounds great.
I was just about to flash the unit but I read on the instructions that a USB 2.0 is preferable... has anyone done everything with a 3.0 right from the start? Or should I order a 2.0 and just wait..
