can't find wicd package

Post by /RaspberryPi »

i'm trying to get and old rpi b+ to work with a new raspberry pi os and i found that the wicd package is not available. i just setup the sd card with the following image:
[h=3]Raspberry Pi OS Lite[/h]
  • Release date: April 4th 2022
  • System: 32-bit
  • Kernel version: 5.15
  • Debian version: 11 (bullseye)

$ lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Raspbian
Description: Raspbian GNU/Linux 11 (bullseye)
Release: 11
Codename: bullseye
I've tried installed `wicd-curses` and `wicd` with no luck. I've done and update and updated all other packages. The only reason I was trying wicd was to see if it did a better job of reconnecting to wifi without the need of a diy wifi monitoring script.
$ sudo apt install wicd-curses
