volume slider broken

[Released: 2011] The 3DS is similar to the DS, but is capable of projecting stereoscopic 3D effects without the use of 3D glasses or additional accessories. A redesigned "XL" version of the console was also released.

volume slider broken

so I have an old model 3ds xl (serial number begins w sw) and the volume is stuck at max. the slider itself is fine, i think it's an internal issue. anyone got some solutions?
