All control stops?

So I just got Project Eris working on my PSC today. After some trial and error I was able to finally get the games to work, however, I can only play for about 5 minutes until the controller craps out (in RE2 I'm able to reach the bus right before the police station until it starts wigging out on me). Honestly, it's not even so much the controller as it is the whole emulator? Once I lose all control of the game, I cant even use the reset button to take me back to the main menu to try and save my state or reload. I have to shut the PSC all the way down. I tried booting the ROM from RetroArch and it worked fine, except it would let me use the analog sticks. I joined the Project Eris discord, but no response yet.
