NES classic stuck on black screen/switches itself off immediately

I added one game to the nes and it seemed to have been added fine. I clicked on the folder and the nes screen turned black. I tried rebooting it and it turns on for 2s and then switches itself off. Sometimes it stays on but stuck on the black screen. When I try to flash the original kernel back onto it or reset it from hakchi it either gets stuck on the "knock knock" screen, shows write error, says kernel/script is out of date, or just gets stuck on the waiting for nes mini screen. Does anyone know what I should do I'm completely inexperienced?
