ODEs (GDEMU/USB GD-ROM) and new Redump exclusive CUE/BIN game images

[Released: 1998] Born out of Sega's darkest hour to decide whether the company stays in the hardware business. Even though it didn't officially last long in the US, it was continued selling in Japan and spawned some great 2D Japanese shooters.

ODEs (GDEMU/USB GD-ROM) and new Redump exclusive CUE/BIN game images

Post by /dreamcast »

I would like to ask for any help with converting or otherwise enabling cue/bin Redump dumps to work on GDEMU.
Most people will never have much of a reason to bother with this since virtually all of the popular games, especially for the NTSC-U region, are already available in the TOSEC gdi format that works without issues on ODEs. But it turns out that there are several rarer games, especially NTSC-J games, that are not available in the TOSEC, TruRip, or even older gdi Redump sets, but only in the current cue/bin Redump set.
I've spent a few days looking for ways to work around this incompatibility, and the only idea I have is to somehow convert the cue/bin dump into a selfboot cdi image, but so far I've had zero success in running these on a GDEMU. Converting the cue/bins to the TOSEC gdi format would seem to be the ideal solution, but I've not been able to find anything that can do this.
Many thanks to anyone who can provide some info.
