Anyone remember a free game(s) promo?

I was trying to search if this was a thing or I’m just misremembering childhood memories. I got a master system in the US early in the lifecycle, and I distinctly remember getting a couple mail away games for free or for shipping & handling. I know one was Double Dragon.
Does anyone remember if this was an actual promo? I haven’t found anything online about it, so it’s entirely possible I’m imagining things lol
