Ac adapter for mini

I’m brand new to the Turbografx. Just acquired a mini for $140 (looks like I overpaid by $40 but I’m ok with it). After some research I learned the machine is finicky with power adapters. I ultimately opted to go with the hori power adapter at a whopping $60. How are you all handing ac adapters for your minis? Sorry if this topic has been beaten to death.
