Ps3 won’t read USB Drive!

So, I formatted my usb drive to fat and then plugged it into the ps3 port. The port is fine as I can still recharge my controller as well as the usb drive as I can transfer files from anywhere (except my ps3). But still it won't read or recognise that drive at all! I tried pressing Triangle everywhere, still, no luck. I also tried with a different usb drive.. Any suggestions?
