Offbrand Wii Classic Remote Issues

So I just got scammed on eBay, seller sold me an “authenticâ€￾ Wii Classic remote and I received a knockoff. The remote works fine on my Wii, but as expected it’s not registering on my NES Classic with the Hakchi CE 3.7 (or is it 3.8?). I’ve tried some google searches and I’m only finding stuff from 2017, is Hakchi able to make my controller work, or is there a simple way to get this going?
