Links Awakening on Classic NES

First of all, I apologize if this has been discussed before. I’m new to this, and I’m by no means computer savvy.
I’m trying to download game boy colors version of Links Awakening to my classic NES. When I do it acts like it’s going to play, but then just goes back to the main menu. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for your help!!
