Luigi’s Mansion 2001: Was There Really A Ghost Boss In The Safari Room?

Post by /n64 »

Even though we all know it’s fake, it all started with a YouTuber called “chuggaconory“ (I think that’s how it’s spelled) years ago, in his playthrough of the original Luigi’s Mansion, he claimed he heard a ghost boss was intended in the Safari Room but was cut, as this ghost seemed to resemble a Australian Hunter, with a sniper rifle, and threatened Luigi by stating he’ll cut his head off and put it on the wall with the other animals, which was obviously implied Nintendo decided it was too dark and scary for a Kids Game, therefore getting rid of this ghost. While a bunch of stuff that was in the BETA like the time limit, a certain ghost, and a extremely nightmare fuel Game Over screen, was cut, this Safari Ghost is definitely the most interesting. As for Where chuggaconory heard this rumor, he said it was on Nintendo Power. Some people also assumed it was true, as they said the Australian Ghost could be found in the BETA or the Japanese version of the game, but nothing was there. I’m not sure if the people who wrote the Nintendo Power magazine did that on purpose just to spread rumors or if this ghost really was planned at some point.
