3DS charging help

[Released: 2011] The 3DS is similar to the DS, but is capable of projecting stereoscopic 3D effects without the use of 3D glasses or additional accessories. A redesigned "XL" version of the console was also released.

3DS charging help

Went to play my 3DS (been a while - since Link b/w Worlds release probably) and it won't charge.
Tried with the AC wall charger and also bought a cigarette lighter car charger from Gamestop - no success. Seems it will charge for a bit whenever I hold in a certain orientation. Help???
