1st (?) True drop in replacement color LCD for gameboy color

[Released: 1989] The Game Boy is Nintendo's second handheld system following the Game & Watch series. Despite many other technologically superior handheld consoles introduced during its lifetime, the Game Boy was a tremendous success.

[TD] I know there are a few color LCD kits for the game boy color

  1. benvenn's freckle shack
  2. midwest embedded
  3. mcwill kit
but they all at least require some case modification and some soldering (for the brightness control)
I have found what I believe to the first true drop in replacement backlit lcd kit for the gameboy color, absolutely no case modification or soldering required!
It seems this kit uses the same phyiscal LCD, but the converter board is small enough that it fits without any case modification. Best of all, the brightness control is a touch sensitive pad which you just stick to the inside of the case, and when you touch that point on the outside of the case the it toggles between the brightness settings.
