Looking to replace my battery, finding different voltages

The battery in my 2DS is totally screwed, so I've been looking to replace it. The battery pack itself says 3.6V 1300mAh 5Wh, but every other site (including Nintendo's) lists 3.7V and either 1300mAh or 2000mAh. Should I try to find a battery with identical specs to the original or is it safe to go with something different?
(Another thing I've been seeing is that sometimes with the batteries people are getting, their systems will go from red light directly to dead in about 10 seconds. Might this be due to the differences in voltage and mAh or is it just shitty retailers?)
