dummy or not for cdi

Hi I am new to dreamcast scene, I am reading all the thing about dummies in cdi and I understand how it work. But my question is is there any thing to add/remove dummy.dat to the cdi? I downloaded one called RebuildGDI but
1.) it is for gdi, but what about cdi?
2.) any other ways to add/remove dummy to cdi (dummied for burning to CDR, non-dummied for playing in GDEMU)
