Ps2 to HDMI no signal

Im trying to set up this ps2 but it's saying there is no signal. I've tried toggling between component and RGB output signals on the config menu. Everything is plugged in right but my monitor is black and every 10 seconds it says no signal for a second and then it black again. The monitor is an asus ve248hr if that helps.
