Old Nintendo 2DS crashing after online functions?

[Released: 2011] The 3DS is similar to the DS, but is capable of projecting stereoscopic 3D effects without the use of 3D glasses or additional accessories. A redesigned "XL" version of the console was also released.

Old Nintendo 2DS crashing after online functions?

I own an Old Nintendo 2DS in seafoam/white. and recently I've had the issue of the console crashing while either attempting to connect/disconnect from internet related things, like a Smash 4 lobby, or a Online match on Pokemon US/UM. i haven't yet experienced this with my OR/AS Cartrige. also, the internet browser crashes the system upon pressing the icon.
any help with why this is happening? thanks in advance!
