Is the DSi XL really that much better compared to the 2DS XL?

[Released: 2011] The 3DS is similar to the DS, but is capable of projecting stereoscopic 3D effects without the use of 3D glasses or additional accessories. A redesigned "XL" version of the console was also released.

I might buy a DSi XL if enough people can assure me that it looks jaw droppingly better than the 2DS XL. Oh, of course I'm talking about DS games... (And no, the "hold select or start mode" on the 2DS XL is not a fix for me, I'm a human, not an ant.) Could you guys give me a rating for both systems display when it comes to DS games? (10/?) Also, I mainly play DS Pokemon games.
