Any chronological order folks out there?

I was texting with some friends today about Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and I mentioned that it would likely be a long time until I play it because I’m still working my way through the earlier games. None of the other guys believed in playing games in their chronological order and I wondered if I’m on an island here. Does anyone else make a concerted effort to play games/series in release order?
