Did my game YLOD my old system?

Post by /p3 »

I had a fat system that just YLOD this past weekend.

Early on in Resistance 3, the game just shut off, went red.

I put it back on, then about 10-15 min later in the game, during a cut-scene, the dialogue/sound was gone, I just saw the people mouthing stuff, then choppy, then my system died.

Tried turning it back on, now I get the YLOD.

Tried numerous times on numerous days just to see, always the YLOD.

So I just got a slim last night, had to start over.

Get to the same cut-scene in the game, and again, dialogue cuts out and the game freezes.

I'm assuming the game is just bad but how in the heck did it just wind up with my system dying at the same time?

Anyone else ever run into this?
