Ps3 network "benefits"

Hello fellow gamers.Yesterday I got used ps3 with hen installed. I got it cuz I want to collect all 5 consoles and essential (exclusive) games for all 5 systems.So basically I will have disc ver. of all games that I want to play on PS3. My question is. Shloud I reinstall PS3 system firmware and remove hen to use network features? Is psn on PS3 alive (accounts, trophies etc.) or its shut down like psn store? Tnx
