Question about this PS3 I got

I recently bought this PS3 from the swap meet it's a CECHL01. I know that model isn't a backwards compatible model. But I did find it interesting before I got it the guy told me he was able to play PS2 games on it.

So anyways I just turned it on and no it doesn't play PS2 games, I noticed it has Need for Speed most wanted for PS2 downloaded on it. And i can play it perfectly fine. I also noticed I'm not able to login into PSN with this PS3 under this person's account even when il directly connected to a cable.

Was need for speed for PS2 ever a game on the psn or did he mod this game on the system or something?

Any help would be appreciated thank you
