Please Help!

My ps4 is being repaired. I brought a ps3 from a buddy of mine, which wasn't in use for more than a year. I am trying to connect both ps3 controller which came with it and my ds4 via usb cables. Nothing works.

I tested the cables, they are working fine.

I tested both USB ports on the ps3, they are working fine.

The ps3 boots up fine and I get the home screen.

I am sure my ds4 is fine. I tried hard resetting it too.

All help videos show a ds4 starts working right after you connect it with the usb cable. Please help!
