Force Retroarch to open from the menu or without the shortcut (SNES mini)

So, I did some updates on hakchi, and now anything that runs on Retroarch detects only the "down" button on the controller. So I can't even summon the retroarch menu to correct the issue.

What are my options here?

EDIT: I already tried to delete RA configuration files. And also uninstalling and installing clean Retroarch. It doesn't work either way.
