N64 MAV-NUS Chip Fried? No video/audio after installing and removing Tim Worthington's RGB board, sparks...
Long story short, I installed Tim Worthington's N64RGB board and made sure their were no bridges or shorts, but still wasn't getting video, had booming and crackling audio, and the LEDS on the V3 board were random, dimming etc.
Upon trying one power-on, I noticed some humming and slight sparks between Tim's high-pitch DAC adapter and the MAV-NUS chip, so I de-soldered the adapter, tried the now un-modded N64, and am no longer getting video or audio.
- Is the MAV-NUS chip possibly fried? Bridged between the pins?
- Can I still install Tim Worthington's RGB board with a broken MAV-NUS chip? (Don't need composite or s-video)
