qBittorrent and Deluge downloading at less than 20 MB/s with 2.5 Gbps connection

Post by /RaspberryPi »

Hi everyone! I recently bought a USB - Ethernet converter for my RaspberryPi 4B with 4GB of RAM, so it could support up to 2.5 Gbps. I did a speed test and it comes close to this speed. However, when I try downloading the Kali and Ubuntu torrents with qBittorrent and Deluge, the max it reaches is 20 MB/s. Not only, but when I try downloading them on my Windows 11 laptop, I get around 130 MB/s via WiFi.

I installed qBittorrent on Raspbian, but to test different versions, I used docker containers. Nevertheless, the results were the same.

Any thoughts?
UPDATE
I just tried running the latest containerized version of qBittorrent on my Core i7 laptop with 16 GB of RAM and an internal SSD and obtained the same results: download speed of < 20 MB/s. In this case the OS is AlmaLinux and the network connection is the same.
