Does the "Select Game" button work on Free Play?

Hey everyone, I recently picked up a MVS 2 slot and I noticed that the "Select Game" button only works if I manually add a credit to the machine. Is this normal? At the moment If I want to play Slot 2 then I have to wait until the attract mode for Slot 1 is over. It's a minor inconvenience but not that big of a deal of course. I just figured the "Select Game" button would change the attract mode even without a credit. I skimmed through the DIP switches but didn't see a option to adjust it. Is this adjustable?
