PS2 Slim has audio, but no intro sound?

It's a 75001 model. Spent some time in a garage based on the humidity rust on the shielding, otherwise very clean and seemingly barely used. I can hear the bloops as I navigate the browser/setup screen and memory card. I also have audio with this cable on another ps2 slim (70012). I just don't get the swooshy intro sound on this 75k console.

Does anyone have any insight into this? Never heard of it and can't find anything through google.

Doesn't read discs either but I assume that's a laser problem because I cleaned and lubed it. CMOS battery is dead on both consoles.
