NBA Jam Arcade on Genesis Mini?

Does anyone have a specific set up they have done to get any version of an NBA Jam arcade version working? Any one have it working?

I tried NBA Jam TE from a Mame 2003 Romset for Mame 2003 Xtreme but just get a black screen.

I also tried a Mame 2000 rom with a the correct core as well.

I have used roms from this romset already with no issues. Each time I have made sure to select the right core. Perhaps the game is not compatible right now? Any suggestions.

I also have the 32x version working, love the arcade announcer and gameplay flow much more.
