My PS3 turns itself on randomly for a few seconds then immediately turns itself off again

I've noticed flthat every night now for the past few months, at completely random times, my PS3 Slim will turn itself on, sound like it's processing something, then turn itself off. No 'beep' to signal its going on or off, no prompt from a controller, no HDMI power input, completely independently and often when I'm in bed. I dont think it's effected the console itself but I've not actually used it on since I noticed this, so I really have no idea. Any clue as to what's happening?
