Raspberry Pi Pico Does Not Show Up As Mass Storage In Arch Linux

Post by /RaspberryPi »

I'm on an arch linux install. I setup the environment and compiled my program correctly but both of my Pico boards just won't show up on my file manager or on lsblk. They do show up when I do lsusb.

Bus 001 Device 011: ID 2e8a:0003 Raspberry Pi RP2 Boot I installed the following packages from the official repository and the AUR:
  • raspberry-pico-sdk-git (AUR)
  • arm-none-eabi-gcc
  • arm-none-eabi-newlib

I cloned the github for the example programs to test this, using the provided blink program. The whole build process had no problems.

This seems to be a problem some people face when programming Picos on Linux but none of the solutions I found worked for me. Adding my user to dialout didn't work (this group doesn't exist on my machine). Using different cables also didn't work (but this was never an issue as they show in lsusb).

[SOLVED] Turns out I just had to reboot my computer. Check comments.
