Ps3 repair question

I have an og ps3 fat that’s had some troubles throughout the year. Most recently when I press the power on a green light flashes then it turns off with no red light. After repeating on and off a couple of times the ps3 will stay on but after playing a game for about 10-15 mins the fan goes onto full power and the console turns off. I’ve opened the console up and got rid of all the dust (there was a lot), I thought it would fix my issue but no. I was wondering if this could be a potential issue with the power supply or if replacing the thermal paste would fix it. The power supply model number is eadp-260bb, not sure if they have a history of needing replacement? Any help would be greatly appreciated, trying to revive a little nostalgia:).
