The boiling the 72 pin trick worked but the games are very stiff to insert and remove.

I have no green thumb when it comes to electronics repair but after my nes started giving me the flashing red light on every game the other day and after a bit of research I decided to try the boil trick since it seemed like a free repair. The disassemble was easy. I boiled the pin for 15 mins and allowed it the throughly dry and reassembled. Everything seemingly is working fine but the games are considerably stiffer to insert and remove. Even games I recently cleaned are difficult to insert and remove. Any pointers for making it more smooth?
